SUMMER INTERNSHIP CANDIDATE
INTRODUCTION
St. Augustine Law Group, PA. operates differently than some law practices and/or businesses. The candidate for this position could work both inside and outside of the office, performing various secretarial and paralegal related responsibilities as assigned by the attorneys of the firm and or other support staff. Most responsibilities would not require a daily presence in the office, as they could be completed remotely from home, or from an alternative location that remains sensitive to the privacy of clients and the attorneys representing them. However, working from the office will likely improve your experience. The primary objective for our interns is to experience a wide variety of elements of the practice of law by being an active participant in various office activities, and observing the day to day work performed by the attorneys and office staff.
By default, Interns do not initially receive financial compensation for their time with the firm, but MAY be eligible for compensation based on prior experience and their ability to deliver value to the firm. The primary purpose is to learn, and the members of the firm are ready, willing and able to answer your questions, and give you additional perspective for your career journey.
The hours will be determined based on your availability, but would ideally be at least 3 days per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer and initiate phone calls to the main office, taking messages as required.
Compile, analyze, and organize information.
Prepare written reports.
Organize and track files from case documents and make them available and easily accessible to attorneys.
Draft simple legal documents under the direction of attorneys.
Skills Desired:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Project/Case Management Experience
A demonstrated ability to both learn new and complex concepts, and then teach them to others
Self Starting nature
Familiar with Google Apps for Business
Familiar with Dropbox
Familiarity with Project Management Software and Applications
